SEPTEMBER RANDOM...

SEPTEMBER - 2012

At Luke's 5yr. photo shoot, I got these two
Amazing photos of the boys together.

Again this year, we went to the
"Field Days of the Past".
Only this year, I really didn't take any pictures.
Except for this one...
for my Dad - a Ford Galaxy 500.
If only it was Sky Blue.

One of the perks of having to drive Luke to school
everyday, is getting to drive past this
little moment of Praise.

I was really loving the light coming in
on the front porch this particular morning,
so I grabbed my little model.

LUKE TURNS 5...

SEPTEMBER - 2012

Tuesday, September 11, 2013
our twin boys turned Five.

Happy, HAPPY 5th Birthday
to our twin sons, Luke & Max.
To Luke, who is the funniest, sweetest and
most generous little person we know.
You make Mommy, Daddy and Grey laugh every day.
We Love You SO much, and hope you have a GREAT Day!!
To Max, who is spending the day with our Lord.
You are the best Guardian Angel anyone could ever ask for.
We think about you and MISS you Every. Single. Day!!
We Love You!!
Hopefully PaPa Faucheux will
take you fishing in Heaven today.
To our boys, one who is with us in body
and the other with us in spirit, we couldn't
ask for two more Special sons than we have in you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

I was all ready for Luke to get home from school...
... with Max's balloons and a Special Trophy.
He was so sad that he didn't get one of the trophy's
at his party, that I made him a very special
one for a very special day.
"Best Son"

During the party, all his little buddies were in the way,
so I wasn't able to get any good pictures of him
being sung too, or of him blowing out
his candles.  Tonight, I got exactly the shots I wanted :)

His very special gift from his Daddy.

After dinner, we headed down to the docks
for our traditional, annual balloon release
for Max.

The three loves of my life!!

Happy 5th Birthday Lucien Charles!!

"GONE FISHING" BIRTHDAY PARTY

SEPTEMBER - 2012

How is it possible that our baby is turning FIVE?
When I knew this birthday was coming up, I had
already started planning a little by "pinning"
inspiration on Pinterest.
Then Marc suggested that we have a little
fishing tournament for his party.
My thought was, "No"... how boring.
But then I found where someone had made "bobbers"
out of white Japanese paper lanterns, and I was sold.
I totally ran with that theme.
Here are just a few of the Many details from the party.

To see all the craziness I put into this party, please
go check out this post on my craft blog.

ALL of Luke's little friends, that he invited, came
to help him celebrate - along with their siblings.
So all told, there were 24 kids ranging
in age from two to twelve.

I had a lot of activities planned, but before
those all began, the kids dug into all
the little yummy treats.

The first event was the Fishing Tournament.  Before they
could start fishing, they had to dig for their bait.
We had a galvenized tub filled with dirt and night-crawlers.

"Let the Tournament" begin...

We were giving out three different prizes.
This young man won the prize for the "Most Fish Caught".

Mr. Grey won the prize for "First Fish Caught".

And Luke's classmate, Danielle, won the prize for
"Biggest Fish Caught".

This is from one of the other games that was played
after the tournament concluded.  It was called "Noodling".
There is an actual style of fishing called "Noodling", where
one catches a catfish with his bare hands.
My version of "Noodling" entailed being
blindfolded and digging in cold, olive-oiled pasta
for a small prize.
Another big hit with the party goers.

Eventually it was time for the cake.
I made this Rainbow Trout cake out of cupcakes.

He just blew out his candles...

then he opened ALL his presents...
So. Many. Monster. Trucks!!

Do you think he liked his cake?

Then it was time for the final activity... the Pinata.
I actually made the Pinata so that I could have one
that looked like a Rainbow Trout.

I guess I made it too good, because we went through
ALL the kids, and it still didn't break.
We finally had to knock it to the ground
and beat the candy out of it.

Before some of the guests left, I took pictures
of them in the little "Photo Booth" that I had
set up.  I had planned to photograph
all the guests, but I got so caught up in
everything that I forgot.
But I did get some of them, like
The Newlyweds - Josh and Erica
and Luke with his PreK-4 teacher, Miss Sarah

But most importantly, I got the Birthday Boy!!

I had SOOO much fun planning and hosting this party.
I can only hope that he will remember it and appreciate
all the hard work that went into it.
Happy Birthday Buddy!!

LABOR DAY WEEKEND...

SEPTEMBER - 2012

Before heading down to the beach for the annual
neighborhood holiday hang out, we went
to the hunt camp so Marc could
check on a couple of things.

When we first arrived, after driving through the fields to
get to the trailer, I found this hitchhiker
on the hood of the truck.

The boys love the tractor that they use to bush-hog
the property.  So, many photos had to be taken...

After the tractor fun, we headed to the other side
of the property, but not before I found
another stow-away.

Love the light at the beginning of this trail.

Nothing like a fun morning at the Hunt Camp!

Then it was down to the beach, where
Marc participated in a Corn Hole Tournament.

Luke obviously had fun playing in the water
that day.  His shark get-up is
compliments of his buddy, Leo.

If only we had known, that would be our last
Labor Day in the Hood...
