SOCCER... CONTINUED

So finally, Luke experienced his first team sport. This past weekend, the weather was nice, and he played in his first Soccer Match... well "Played" is the operative word.

This is from his first practice. It was pretty cold that day, back at the beginning of March, so they practiced inside. Coach Brad started out with a little team pow-wow...

then Coach Brad showed Luke the fundamentals of "dribbling" the soccer ball.

Game Day... March 31, 2012

Before leaving for the game(s), I got a picture of Father & Son... Coach & Player. Marc is also involved in the Upward Soccer program - he coaches one of the older teams, the Monarch's.

Luke plays for the Kings, which is for 4 and 5 year olds. The Upward system does a really great job at putting teams together that has a good variety of skill level, so some of his teammates also played last year.

Luke and his BFF Lucas, are all lined up. waiting for the whistle to blow and for play to begin.
Get Ready, Get Set, GOOOOO.......
He got right in there...
going All Out!!
Still chasing the ball (he's #3)...
He must really Love it, look at that Adorable Smile!
Out of all the players on both teams, Luke is the TINIEST.
Now he's starting to show his true self... not really all that interested, but after the game he explained to us his dis-interest. He thinks he's too slow to play.
"Luke, you're going the wrong way!!"
"Luke, what are you looking at? The Ball is in front of you!!"
Team line up for "Good Game" slaps!

Not sure if Luke is really going to be into sports, but WE SURE ARE PROUD OF HIM!!!
And he is Definitely NOT to Slow... He's SUPER FAST!!!!

MARCH 5TH

See the post date above (3.06.12), I've been trying to publish this post for 14 days now.

What's today's date... the 20th of March - the First Day of Spring? Only 15 days ago, these pics were taken. Now, 15 days later, it's 70 some degrees outside.

On Monday, March 5th, we got some SERIOUS snow... Good Packing snow. Which meant it was time for the boys to make their First Ever Snowman.

I ventured out with them (in my pajamas) to show them the basics of what needed to be done to construct the perfect snowman. Because I was in my PJ's, I was only going to stay out for a little while, but ended up being out there with them for quite a while.

This first picture I took from the porch and then cropped it in close.
For this picture, I actually went out into the yard with an umbrella, so the snow wouldn't completely soak me and my camera. I told the boys to hold "hands" with the Snowman.
The boys had an absolute Blast!! Luke even helped Marc out with a little Marketing.

After they were completely soaked from head to toe, and I finally convinced them to come inside, Luke helped me make some brownies.
I was so excited to use my new Cake Stand.

I think their First Snowman is quite Good!!

Love Grey's little contribution of the tree that the snowman is holding up.

MARCH 1ST

The First day of March brought another Beautiful Spring Day....

A new favorite for the boys is climbing in the bed of the truck and playing. Not a favorite of their Daddy's, but he'll just have to deal. On this particular sunny afternoon, I couldn't get them out, so I snapped away.

Love his expression...
Totally out of focus, but love the light and his smile.
I asked him to peek over the top of the tailgate...
Don't you love the dirt on his face?

Spring is surely right around the corner...?

WARM WEATHER TEASER... AGAIN!

Okay, remember my previous post about it snowing on that Sunday in February? Well, these are from a couple of days later... warmer weather again!

It was Luke's turn again at school to take care of Spot. They missed school on Tuesday because of the snow, and then on Wednesday, Miss Sarah forgot to send him home with us. So Thursday was the first day that we had him.

Luke was SOOO excited to show Spot his new house. The last time he took care of him, we were still in the old house.
He helped Spot enjoy one of his most favorite things to do... push his dump truck all over the driveway.
There was really great light that afternoon, so I tried to get a couple of shots of the boys on the porch. The light there for photography is really Incredible!!
The photo above shows Grey putting on his rain boots, but by the time I took this next photo, they were barefoot. Snow boots on Monday - Barefoot on Thursday... Crazy!!

The next evening, before dinner, after playing outside with no nap, I got this shot...

Then on Monday, we had yet another beautiful day. I decided to take the boys on a little walk/hike. It was Luke's last day with Spot for this visit, so he decided to take him along.
Snapped a shot of Luke and Spot by the water.

Grey's favorite thing is throwing rocks in the water. Don't worry Grandpa... I know, no life jacket, but I wouldn't let him off that concrete step.
Then we went for a little hike up into the woods. I got this shot of the boys on our way back.
At the bottom of our street, there are these really great rocks for climbing on. Luke was determined to conquer the climb. So proud of himself, but do you think he has to pee?
Grey tried and tried and tried and tried, but he could just Not get up on the rock.
Luke's pretending to be a bear.
Now they're both pretending to be snakes.
Little boys are so funny.

Mother Nature is a little confused...

Spring SOOO wants to come!!

SUNDAY... IT SNOWED!

Remember my previous post where we had a Wonderfully Warm Saturday in February? Well this is what it looked like the next day! Can you believe it? Crazy huh?
It pretty much snowed all afternoon and into the evening. When we awoke on Monday morning, right away the boys were asking to go outside.
So... I got them all BUNDLED up!!
Amazingly, this was Grey's first time to experience snow. Wait, I think. I'll have to go back and check from last year. I'm pretty sure, any time it snowed the last two years, I would take Luke outside while Grey was napping. Anyway... he loved it!
Unfortunately, the snow was not good packing snow, so no snowmen were made that day. But Luke liked pushing the snow around with his toy bulldozer.

I told Grey he should try eating the snow.
Was able to catch Luke throwing a snowball at me.
Then he tried eating the snow.
The boys sharing a snow treat together.
Enjoying their first snowball fight.
Preparing to attack Mommy.
Picture time...

Our Moose Weathervane...
Grey made it his mission to remove the snow from our stump stools.

Grey and I went for a little walk through the woods in the front of our house.
When we got to the road, Grey decided there was no need for a sled. His butt worked just fine to get down the hill.
Our road looking South.
Our road looking North... and the boys.

First Snow Day of the year was a lot of FUN!!
