GORILLA SWINGSET... DAY 2

Yesterday, like Saturday, also dawned sunny and crisp. Another perfect day to allow us to finish assembling the boy's swingset. Marc had to run an errand first thing, so the boys and I played while we waited for him to return. The slide is still a favorite of Lukes, and Grey is all about the dirt pile.
I hung the climbing rope, which Grey (after climbing the ladder to the fort by himself) tested it's strength for me.
When Marc got back, he joined in on the play, and sent Porkchop down the slide by himself.
Then, before starting to work on the swinging part of the swingset, we attached the Rock Wall rocks so Luke would have something else to play on.

Jim Usas came over to help us finish, so while he, Marc and I worked, the boys were busy in the dirt pile.
Grey especially LOVED the dirt pile. (Don't you love his snotty nose?)

This is his "What? I didn't do anything" look.
Can I just say how much I can't wait for the pea gravel to arrive?

By around 1:00, the new Gorilla Swingset was complete.

The Rock Wall has a Rope to assist with climbing.
Up in the covered Fort area, there is a Steering Wheel, a Tic-Tac-Toe game and a Telescope.
The backside has a Trapeze Bar.

There is a Glider Swing...
as well as a Belt Swing which Luke likes to Superman on.
And of course the slide.
We hope this provides hours of fun for the boys. It has to beat playing up on the boring 'ole Deck.
So now, Finally, the Faucheux Boys have a Proper Play Area.
Do you think he likes his new Swingset?
Hopefully, there will still be a few weeks of good weather so they can enjoy it plenty of times before we have to wait for the warmer weather of next Spring.

GORILLA SWINGSET... DAY 1

This morning, we awoke to a beautiful crisp fall day... perfect for assembling the boy's new swing-set. After having some breakfast and dressing a little warmer, we ALL headed outside to begin the task.

First on the list - sort all the parts and pieces to assure we have everything.
Luke was a big help with this part.

Then, the assembly began. Again, Luke was right in there giving Daddy a hand.
By lunch-time, we had the main frame of the fort portion put together.
After lunch, first on the agenda was to level the ground under the fort. Marc went and borrowed the Usas' mini trailer so he could haul dirt from up in the yard and gravel from the driveway. Daddy's little shadow was right next to him doing everything Daddy was doing.

By dinnertime, the fort portion was pretty much complete, and Luke had already been testing the slide out MULTIPLE times.
And where was Porkchop all this time, you ask?

Just being cute!!! And yes, that is dirt on his bottom lip.

Tune in tomorrow to see the completed swing set.

A TALE OF TWO HALLOWEEN WREATHS

Last Friday, I got this crazy idea, and made this wreath.
By Sunday, most of the candies had melted off and made a mess of the deck below. So, I had to come up with another idea for a wreath.

Thanks to inspiration from Mom, this is what I came up with.

Happy Halloween!!

MORE BEFORE & AFTERS

A TEXAS WEDDING

Two weeks ago, Marc traveled to Texas for his sister, Brigitte's, wedding. Unfortunately, the boys and I weren't able to attend, but a lot of the guests were kind enough to take pictures for me and post them on Facebook right away so I would feel like I was there.

On Saturday,
September 18th, 2010,
Brigitte Faucheux wed Jason Falgout.

I just love her Cathedral length vail.
Her Uncle John, who is also her Godfather, gave her away.

Marc said the ceremony was simple and Beautiful, and totally fitting of them.
They had a small reception at the church following the ceremony.

Not sure if this photo was taken before or after the ceremony, but looks they're enjoying a humorous brother / sister moment.
The Newlyweds... Mr. & Mrs. Jason Falgout

After all the festivities, the Uzee family, along with the Newlyweds, got together at the Wine Bar that was located at the hotel.
