Spring is blooming right outside my bedroom window.

A DAY AT THE HUNT CAMP
Yesterday, was a partly cloudy day, with a high temperature of about 60. Not the most beautiful of days, but Marc and I knew we didn't want to sit around the house. So we decided to take the boys to Marc's hunt camp, and have a little picnic.

The plan, once we got there, was for the boys to do a little fishing, have our picnic, and then do a little exploring. Grey had fallen asleep in the car on the way there, so when we first got there, we left him in the car. While Marc and Luke got busy fishing at the big pond...

Grey eventually woke up, so we had our picnic and then the boys and I did a little bit more fishing. While I was holding Luke's "Cars" pole for him, I snagged me a good sized Crappie. And before we packed up the gear for the day, Marc had a another huge bite (probably a bass), but lost it when the fish got stuck under a branch.

Once we packed up your picnic and the fishing gear, Marc drove us over to an area of the camp they call the "Bone Yard". It's basically a large field that is littered with deer skeletons.

The field is located near a grove of trees where they put the deer carcasses after they process them for the meat. Then, buzzards and coyotes drag the carcasses out into this field to enjoy their feast. The boys had fun looking for bones.
After the bone scavenger hunt, we hiked to the mouth of a natural spring, where Marc wanted to show us his favorite tree. This tree, at some point in it's life, fell over, and even though it's trunk is split, it is still growing, and provides a natural bridge over the spring.

The headstones date back to the mid 1700's. Some of them are so old, they are crumbling and the writing is barely there.
The cemetery was beautiful and peaceful.
The Faucheux family enjoyed a nice wonderful Sunday. We fished, we ate, we explored, we hiked... we were together. Can't ask for more than that.
A FIRST....

A LITTLE LANDSCAPING
So, we've now lived in this house for seven years this coming July. And, as you all know, our house is for sale, which makes it the perfect time and gives the perfect reason to finally do a little landscaping.
A couple of weekends ago, Marc went and got a couple of truck loads of black mulch, and created this nice large mulch bed at the front of the house.
He used the stones that we had originally used around Max's garden, and created a nice little retaining wall and border.

Our friend, Jim Usas, gave the boys the little Cardinal Whirly-gig.

My favorite part is the stacked stone retaining wall.

My favorite part is the stacked stone retaining wall.
Right after I took the above shot, I looked over and saw this...
Right after I captured this mid-stream shot, a line of cars came over that hill in the distance. I tried to explain to him that he needs to face AWAY from the road when he's doing his business. He usually picks a tree... I don't know what possessed him to drop trough right out in the open.

MONSTER TRUCK
A LITTLE BIT OF SPRING
Today, FINALLY, we had a Beautiful, Spring like Day. It was like 50 degrees when we woke up rather than 30 degrees - YAY! It wasn't cloudy - YAY! It got up to almost 70 - YAY! And, it WASN'T windy - YAY, YAY, YAY!!
Marc and Luke went to church and Grey and I went to Walmart - needed diapers, and while there, got a CUTE little, white sun dress.
When we all got home, we loaded up in the old Chevy truck and headed down to the fishin' hole.
All Grey wanted to do was throw rocks in the water.
Before leaving, Marc had gone to get bait, but also got Luke a new fishing pole, so Grey could use his old one from last year. But wouldn't you know, Luke wouldn't have any of that. He wanted to use his little "Cars" pole. He doesn't have the patience he did last year - all he wanted to do was reel it in.

Grey would occasionally take a break from throwing rocks, and check in on what Daddy and Big Brother were up to.

It was a Beautiful day to be outside.

BATTING PRACTICE
I'm sure you all remember my recent post where I made the suggestion that Grey might have a future career as a Plumber (based on his visible crack). Well, if plumbing doesn't pan out for him, he might also look into becoming a Professional Baseball Player.
I took these photos and video the other night, while he and Marc were having Batting Practice. Now note in these photos, that he is hitting an Actual baseball, which weighs probably four times more than the plastic ball that goes with this little t-ball set. This is the t-ball set that we bought for Luke the summer of '08. It's actually a little too short for Grey, so once we set up the one the boys got for Christmas from Santa, he's really going to be able to go to town... outside of course.
He has the perfect set up...
This video is a two parter. The first part was taken sometime late last summer when he first started playing. The second part was taken the other night. I apologize for the poor quality, but the lighting in our house at night is really bad.
I think Grey really has a future in sports.
