Before the party festivities began, we headed down to the lake to release two white balloons in honor of Max. Covered with notes of love, we watched them soar high to the heavens.
As we awaited the arrival of our many friends, Luke was kind enough to take his picture with Mommy.
We also hung out outside where Luke eyed his presents with anticipation and preoccupied himself with some serious play.

He LOVED his cake...not for the flavor, but for the toys that were on it. He really had no interest in blowing out the candles, he just wanted to play with the race car and the tow truck. However, with a little coaxing from Daddy and his friend Lily, the candles were extinguished.

Then it was time for presents. And BOY OH BOY were their presents. We want to thank all of our friends for being so generous, and totally making one little boy's day. Everyone also got a big kick over the fact that he got a "Potty" for a gift. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Charles. They all said, they had never seen one given as a gift before.

Luke's friends Tyler and Harrison Monette, along with their parents, were kind enough to make the trip up from Richmond to help him celebrate his big day.

After all the guests were gone, and long after Luke's bedtime, Daddy just couldn't wait to set up one of the presents that we had gotten him. Father and son had a lot of fun seeing what the race track was all about
