NEW PROJECT COMPLETE

Recently, I received in the mail, these two WAY CUTE purses that my Mom had made me. One was brown and lime green, combining a stripe and floral pattern, and the other was a Sunflower print with a blue background. I LOVE them both, but since she also sent me the pattern, of course, I had to try to make one for myself.

I gave you a peek at the fabrics I bought for it a couple of weeks ago. Do you remember them?

Here's the finished purse. What do you think? Do you love it as much as I do?
This was the first time I ever did any "quilting"
It has adjustable ties on the side.
Love the Red Wood Button.
The organization pockets on the inside will safe me so much time looking for, most of all, my cell phone.

I had SOOO much fun making this one, that I'm thinking about making another one... and maybe giving it away to a lucky visitor to my blog.

Would any of you be interested in winning one of these? It would probably most definitely be a different pattern and color scheme, but still something with a modern flair. I might even ask the winner what color they would like.

PLEASE leave comments about whether or not any of you would like one.

I'm also linking up to...

FELT DAHLIAS

I found these beautiful Felt Dahlia Broochs, while perusing one of the many crafty blogs I follow. So of course, I ran out and bought a bunch of felt.

Now, as I'm sure you all know, I love all things miniature, so I had to try to adapt the pattern and make some rings. Big oversized costume jewelry rings are all the rage right now, so I thought these would fit right in.

If you want to give it the old college try and create one of these beautiful flowers for yourself, go here.

I hope you think they are as beautiful as I do.

AS A WAY OF THANKS

Last Thursday, we had an unexpected need for a baby-sitter, and one of our dear neighbors stepped up to the challenge. Dee Riser came over for the afternoon and watched the boys, so Marc could be with me during a minor out-patient surgery I had to have. When we got home that evening, Dee had prepared dinner for us, which was completely unexpected, but greatly appreciated. She had fixed a Beef Stew with Carrots and Noodles, and a Cherry Cobbler. I hadn't eaten in 24 hours, so I gobbled it all up as fast as I could. It was so YUMMY!!!!!

As a way of saying Thank You, the boys and I went to see her and her husband, Von, today and took them some Homemade (from Scratch) Double Chocolate Pecan Brownies. I also revved up my Cricut, and made her this adorable box to hold the brownies.

She has promised to pass along the recipes for the meal she made for us, and as soon as she does, I will be sure to share them with all of you.

Thank You again to Dee and Von for helping us out, and to Arlinda for your help. Also, Thank You to all of our friends and family who prayed for us and sent us kind words. You ALL mean the world to us.

CRAFT PROJECT

To keep my mind off "things" this week, I decided to get a little crafty. I saw a tutorial for these barrettes on the internet, and had to try to make a few of my own. Very Easy, Very Fun, and Very Cute!! The tutorial said it was for "Little" girls, but why can't "40 Something" girls wear them too?

However, I do know a few "Little" girls, and maybe their Mommies too, who might like one of their own, so I plan to get busy next week whipping up a bunch. I'll be sure to post pictures of all my creations.
