This year, like the last two years, the Faucheux family sported Halloween costumes with a Theme. But before we got all dressed up, I had to get the candy we would be giving away ready. I know what you're thinking..."what do you mean, you have to get the candy "ready"?" Well, I didn't get the "candy" ready, but I fancied up the container that would hold the said candy. I had ribbon leftover from my Halloween Toothpick wreath, so I wrapped it around a hat box that I had.
Ta-Dahhhhh...

including the best Halloween Treat ever!!
Ever since Luke was born (and we had given him his name), we talked about going as characters from Star Wars. So... this was the Big Year.
Starring as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader... Luke & Grey

Starring as Princess Leia... Kristol
Starring as Han Solo... Marc
To save money on costumes, I made mine and Marc's... go
here to see details.
... and Darth Vader wins.
Nothing really special about these two photos other than Luke's "Determined" expressions.

So after taking pictures at home, on what would become a beautifully "frightful" night...
we headed out to do some Trick-or-Treating
Again this year, the neighborhood hosted it's annual Halloween Hayride, which always starts at the Myers'.
Now that we were with other people, we were able to get some family photos. First Han and Leia...

then, Leia, Luke, Darth and Han.

As we waited for everyone to arrive, the boys enjoyed strutting around in their costumes and playing with their light-sabers.

But mostly, they kept raiding Ms. Linda's "Treat" basket.

After taking the boys on the "Hayride" last year, we decided that this year we would follow the caravan in the golf-cart. With all the bigger kids jumping off the wagons at each stop, it's just a little too dangerous for "little" kids. After 3 or 4 stops with the whole group, we broke off and venture on by ourselves. First, we stopped to visit with our neighbors the Nelson's. It was here that I was able to capture these "Trick-or-Treating" moments...
... and Luke Skywalker wins this battle.
Jim and Bonnie were kind enough to ask us to join them for dinner, so while we ate yummy pasta and salad, the boys enjoyed candy.

After dinner, Bonnie got on the floor with the boys. Here are her and Luke singing "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes".

Grey got busy opening all the kitchen cabinets and hit pay-dirt when he found the baking supplies.

After pulling everything out onto the floor, Luke joined him.

Amazingly, when it was time to leave, they both picked it all up and put it all away. Marc and I were thinking..."Who are these children?". They don't pick anything up at our house.
The boys really enjoyed this year, and are at the ages (well Luke anyway) that they understand what's going on. Next year should really be a blast. I'm also pretty sure that this was probably the last year that Mommy can decide what everyone is wearing. Next year, Luke will most likely have an opinion about his costume choices. I guess I'll just have to rally and work around his pick.
But until then....

I couldn't resist.
