EASTER AT THE HOMESTEAD

So a month ago (WOW, where did those 30 days go?), we were at the beautiful Homestead Resort enjoying a nice relaxing weekend and celebrating Easter. When we arrived late that Friday afternoon, the boys were given their own Easter Baskets.
That first evening mostly consisted of a little shopping (a dress for me to wear to dinner), a nice dinner in the formal dining room, and then a little swimming. On our way to dinner, I had to go into my favorite Ladies Restroom and take pictures. I just LOVE this bathroom - the coral, black and white really speak to me.

After dinner, we changed into our swimsuits and took the boys to the indoor, spring fed pool.
I SO wish I could have gotten pictures of all of us in the water. The boys had a BLAST!! Luke loved jumping in off of the side to Marc's waiting arms, and Grey loved, what he thought was jumping, from one of the steps. He would put his arms out, say "Weady?", and then fall forward into my arms. It was just too freaking cute!!
The architectural details inside this pool structure are just incredible. We enjoyed it both Friday and Saturday night.

That first night, I had to be sure to capture Grey getting ready to experience his first time sleeping in a real bed.

The next morning, I took a picture of the view from our room. It had rained all the previous day, so the fog laid pretty heavy over the mountains.
I loved looking at the ceiling above us as we enjoyed our breakfast that first morning.
This is a view from the resort's front porch.

It started to get sunny, so Marc ran back to the room to get his sunglasses. While he did that, the boys and I were walking around, and a very kind lady offered to take my picture with the boys. Don't have enough of those.

We had a little time to kill until my Spa appointment, so we walked around the grounds. This is the view as you go out the back door off the main lobby. Luke came to really love the "Giant" Chess (as he called it).
The outdoor pool and tennis courts.
Grey got a lot of practice going up and down stairs.
Love this "peek-a-boo" shot of Luke moving one of the "Giant" Knights.
Resort's main tower.
Golf Club House and more rooms beyond. I took these as I was getting ready to head off to the Spa.
But right before I left, I took this pic of the boys in front of the babbling brook that leads down from the Fishing Pond. Wish the boys were in better focus.
Another pic of the back of the hotel. Love how the sun is shining on the tower.

So while I was pampered at the Spa with a massage and facial, Marc and the boys tried to do a little fishing, and then just hung out in the room. Once I got back and had showered, we headed out for some lunch, hoping to be able to see the Easter Bunny at one o'clock. But before seeing Peter Cottontail, Marc treated the boys to some ice cream.

Love the look on their faces.

... took this pic while the boys "slowly" ate their treats. Thank goodness it wasn't any hotter, or else there would have been a serious melted mess.
Yup, he dropped the cone.
No problem... just pick it back up.
10 second rule... still tastes just as good.

1:00 finally arrived, so we went to get in line to see the Easter Bunny. However, the boys didn't want to wait their turn. They kept trying to get to the front of the line.
Finally, it was their turn. The Homestead had it set up really nice, in that there was a professional photographer who would take the picture so you could purchase prints. But the best part, was that she would also step aside and let you take your own pictures... that's what we did.
Nice finger in the eye Luke.

Love how they're just looking at him in amazement.

After visiting with the Easter Bunny, we went to decorate Eggs and little Easter bags. The eggs were, of course, hard-boiled - this fact totally fascinated the boys. This picture was taken right before Grey smashed the egg against the glass door behind him - totally crushing it.
Marc did a really nice job of decorating one of the bags.
Near where we were sitting on the floor, there was a piano. The boys were kind enough to entertain the entire room with their dual playing. Needless to say, we exited shortly after.

Marc and Grey went back to the room to take a little nap, so Luke and I went exploring. He loved throwing things into this little creek.
Luke was kind enough to invite this little boy to a game of "Little" Chess.
We then found the kid's playground. We played for a little while, then went back to the room to get Daddy and Grey so they could come play with us.

On the way back to the room to get ready for dinner, I took a picture of our room. We were the last room on the second floor.
This is the Grand Hall outside the Grand Ballroom.

We enjoyed a Very Yummy dinner in the Formal Dining Room. All the wait staff LOVED our boys. They would bring them all kinds of treats - french fries, apple sauce, watermelon. But seriously, how could you not love them - they're just too cute!!

This was my desert - flourless chocolate cake... Delicious!

After dinner, the boys played some "Little" chess.
We then went walking around the grounds. Down at the Club House, I tried and tried and tried to get a picture of the two of them together. These two were the best of about twenty.
Love how they're running away.
View from Club House.
The boys running down the hall to our room. Excited about going swimming and then getting to bed so the Easter Bunny will come.

And so, the Easter Bunny came.
Luke was curious to see what he brought.
The boys waiting patiently for Daddy before opening their Easter Bags.
Luke explaining to Grey about his "Cars" egg... and grabbing his crotch - NIIICE! That's my boy!
Not sure what this was all about.

Marc and the boys on their way to breakfast. Don't know how I got so lucky in that they were the only ones in the Garden Wing Hall.
Trying to get a picture of them together sporting their "Tie" t-shirts I made them.

After breakfast, when we went back to the room to get their baskets for the big Easter Egg Hunt, Luke threw his first ever Temper Tantrum... and boy was it a Doosey!! Marc stayed with him in the room while Grey and I went out on the back lawn to check out all the eggs.
One of the shop clerks gave Grey an Easter Egg for his basket. However, it was real - meaning hardboiled. Here he is trying to crack/smash it. He was successful.
Shortly before the "Hunt" began, Luke and Marc showed up. Luke's still in tantrum mode at this point, but he quickly came out of it once he saw all the eggs.
The boys walked out onto the Crochet Lawn (when they weren't supposed to) and I got this Amazing shot.
Doesn't he look so Handsome?
Exactly at 11:00am, the "Hunt" started. It was a mad dash of about 50 toddlers and babies to gather as many eggs as they could fit in their baskets.

Luke did quite well.
Grey... not so much.
The boys had a lot of fun!!
Luke and Grey with their proud Papa!
Grey and Luke with their proud Mama!
The boys checking out their loot.
How handsome is he?

After the Easter Egg Hunt, we packed up and headed home. We got home around 3:00, and then went over to see Jim and Bonnie Usas to wish them Happy Easter. The boys LOVE Jim and Bonnie, so I really wanted to get a picture of the boys with them.

A few weeks later, we gave Jim and Bonnie a framed copy of this picture as a gift for their Wedding Anniversary.

MISCELLANEOUS FROM APRIL

Just trying to finally do a little catching up with my blogging. This post has a bunch of miscellaneous stuff from last month.

Cute pics of Porkchop!!

Playing baseball in cowboy boots - not sure the major leagues will allow that.

One night, when Marc was out of town, I came out of the shower and found the boys in our bed. They had their drinks, were under the covers, and told me they were ready to watch Baseball.

A Sunday morning art session...
love the crayon behind the ear...

While trying to get some projects ready for the Farmer's Market, Luke insisted he needed to paint with me. I guess he ran out of paper.

BTW, those are kid's safety scissors.

This is usually the state Grey is in. Luke has just taken something from him...

so he is screaming.

A DAY OF FIRSTS

Today, we had two firsts...

First of all, today was the official Kick Off day to the much anticipated Summer Season. And how was the day"Official" you ask? Well, basically I'm calling it "Official" because it was the first time this year we went to the beach. We headed down there about 4:30 so the boys could do a little "swimming" and cool off.

While there, we made some new friends. The boys loved playing in the water with their new friend, Lilly.
Miss Lilly is two months older than Grey. Isn't she the cutest little chubster?

We plan on getting together with Lilly's Mommy, Trina, on Monday's for some sun and sand filled play dates.

The second first of the day was Grey's first Bubble Bath.

He liked putting the bubbles on Luke.

Look's like it was a hit, so I'm sure Bubble Bath's will now become a regular occurrence.

BTW, I know I have A LOT of catching up to do on this blog.... all the way back to Easter. I promise it will be coming soon!!
