INSPIRATION......

Yesterday, was a day of inspiration for me. Yes, it was Sunday, but I'm not speaking of a spiritual inspiration. I'm speaking of a "Culinary" one. Me and three of my friends from here in the "Hood" - Ann, Heidi and Jo-Ann, went to see an incredibly great movie...
"Julie & Julia". It was inspiring to me in more ways than one, but for now, I will embark on the culinary inspiration. In the movie, Julie, who is inspired by Julia, embarks on her own journey of cooking her way through Julia's cookbook, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking". She gives herself a deadline, and blogs about what she's doing. So...I'm going to do something, not really similar at all. We all know how inept I am in the kitchen. But I'm really going to give it the old college try. So my goal, is to cook at least one new recipe a week.

Starting tonight, I prepared a scrumptious recipe that was a huge hit with the family. I got the recipe from one of my parenting magazines - it's called "Cracklin' Cauliflower" - or in layman's terms - Cauliflower Au Gratin. The two ingredients that made all the difference - Panko (Japanese Breadcrumbs) and Gruyere cheese, which is a cross between Swiss and Parmesan.

Before we dug in and served ourselves heaping helpings, I had to take a picture.

Stay tuned for all my future endeavors, and to see how long I can keep it up.
