HIS FIRST PURCHASE

I had to run to the Dollar store today, so before we left, we checked Luke's "Earning" jar to see if he had enough money to buy something. He had $1.50... enough for a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car.

Let me explain the "Earning" jar. I got this idea from comments I received on Facebook when I posted about my Super Secret "H2O" drink. Someone told me that they used to give money to their son if he would stay in his bed at night... Lightbulb moment!! We told Luke that every time he would stay in his bed at night and every time he pooped on the potty, he would be given a quarter. The bed thing has worked out far better than the potty thing, but we're still working on that.

So with his six quarters, we headed off to the Dollar store.

He was very proud of himself, walking out of the store with his little bag and some change in his pocket.
