BELVEDERE PLANTATION

After last weeks postponement due to rain, yesterday, Luke's Pre-school class went on their first Field Trip to the Belvedere Plantation Pumpkin Patch. This place is crazy big and has tons to do for all ages.

After arriving and getting all organized into our groups, the first thing we did was head out to the Pumpkin Patch. Everyone was given a plastic bag (for carrying picked pumpkins) and we were all loaded up into hay filled wagons for the short bumpy ride to the patch.

Luke got right to work looking for the perfect pumpkins for he and I.

After we had our pumpkins, we all lined up waiting for the tractor to return to pick us up. This was the perfect time to take some pics of Luke and his classmates.

I wish this one was in better focus, 'cause it's just so darn cute... Luke giving Lacy a hug.

Back on the hayride, I snapped this pic of Luke with Miss Sarah - his teacher's Aide.

This was the tractor that pulled our wagon.

This was the patch that had the BIG pumpkins. We didn't go to that one.

All around the property there were these incredible Mums.

After a much needed potty break for all the little people (except mine), we were off to the Fun Barn.

This beautiful old barn was filled with hay and rope swings for the kids.

Luke took his turn and did really good...

but he was more interested in eating his lunch. Unfortunately, lunch is still about an hour away.

Then we headed to the Petting Zoo.

We saw pigs...

and chickens and a rooster...

and a baby cow.

Luke and Lacy are waiting their turn to pet the cow.

The cow was very friendly, and the kids really enjoyed petting him.

Next were the goats.

We got a quarter's worth of food so Luke could feed one.

Before leaving the Petting Zoo area, we tried to get a class picture. This picture includes Luke (hiding behind the sign), Kaitlyn, Lacy and Kayla.

This picture includes the same kids as above plus Beau. Let's just say, Beau is a little out of control.

Then we tried for everyone from the class. Beau disappeared, but Andrew joined the group as well as Miss Angie (Luke's teacher) and Miss Sarah.

And finally, before Lunch, the kids learned about Pollination.

At this point, they are learning how a flower grows, and they are supposed to be acting like a growing flower. Luke, however, was more interested in trying to eat his lunch. Eventually, I was able to sneak in the take the lunch box.

After growing like a flower, they became bees. Here's Luke getting his wings.

We finally had lunch and then Luke played in the play area for a little while, but before that, I took this picture of him in front of the Cows.

This was is favorite part... the Tire Horse Swing. I got lots of CUTE pics.

As we were leaving we stopped to take a few more photos.

When we got home, Luke got right to showing our pumpkins to Grey and Marc.
