PUMPKIN PATCH 2010

It's that time of year again, to go and get our pumpkins. Even though Luke went to a Pumpkin Patch with his school, we still wanted to go as a family. So, last Friday afternoon, we went back to the place we went last year.

While we waited for the Hay Ride to take us out to the patch, the boys were entertained with what the farm had to offer. First up - petting the animals. They didn't actually pet anything, but they enjoyed looking at them.

There were goats...
Porkchop thought he needed to get down to this goat's level.
Then there were sheep...
Porkchop liked talking to this one.
The animals were a hit, but it was on to other things.
When we first arrived, there was this HUGE swarm of birds. It was kind of creepy, especially when they all took flight... we kept praying we wouldn't get crapped on.
Grey was all about exploring everything.
Next was the Hay maze...

then the big slide and the play pit...

I tried to get a photo op of the boys together... yeah right!
Finally, it was time to go to the Patch
All loaded up and ready to go.

I captured this pic of our silhouettes, which I thought was really cool.
NOTE TO SELVES... go earlier in the season.
The Patch was pretty desolate. In fact, our hay ride was EXTRA long because why we were riding around in circles in a nearby meadow, one of the farm work-hands was placing already harvested pumpkins out in the field. It was a little disheartening. But of course, the boys didn't know the difference.

They immediately got busy looking for the perfect pick.

Pumpkin Patch Picking successful, and... I was able to capture them together.

Now we just have a little carving to do.
