BUNK BEDS

The big thing that happened in July was moving Grey to a Big Boy Bed. And not just any Big Boy Bed, but Bunk Beds.

While Marc watched the boys one morning, I headed to IKEA to get everything we would need. Then the next day we took the room apart (removing the built-in next to Luke's old Bed and the crib) and assembled the bunk bed.

This is what their new room looks like...

Sleeping Quarters - notice the lack of a ladder.
When I originally assembled the bed I included the ladder, but within minutes of being on, Grey had already climbed up on top. So I dismantled it, and we just have to help Luke get up and down.

Play Area

With the removal of the built-in, a large area of floor space is now available for the boys.

Dressing Area

I also got these really cool plastic mini trash cans at IKEA. They hold A LOT of cars.

This is Grey taking his First Nap in his new Big Boy Bed.

He has done really well. I think so far, he's only fallen out once. He definitely loved his new found freedom. Due to that love, we have to "lock" them in the room at night. I have a string tied to the door knob that I then tie to the spiral staircase. Luke, however, is not a fan of the freedom. He hates the fact that Grey can get up and play while he's stuck up on the top bunk.
